I can teach you what I wish I had known earlier

I have been a therapist and an educator for 50 years, and I have helped hundreds of women who are in abusive relationships. In fact, I have been through it myself.

When I finally broke down and admitted to some friends what was going on, no one believed me. Even professionals who could be expected to know better, did not know what to say or do. It was very discouraging.

Then when I encountered women in my work who felt stuck in an abusive relationship, I certainly felt for them, I thought I understood, but I still struggled to be helpful. At the time, there was very little literature on the subject, which was almost taboo. So I had to learn on my own.

I wish I had known as a beginning therapist what I know now - and I can teach you the skills I wish I'd had 50 years ago.
