I have been a therapist and an adult educator for 50 years. I can't think of anything more satisfying than teaching ordinary people how to help other people. I've had my own struggles too, I have dealt with PTSD for most of my adult life, so I understand first hand what many people go through daily. Let's see what we can accomplish together!

Be A Helper
Most people first talk to a friend or family member before going to see a professional.
I help the housewife with an eternal pot of coffee on the stove and a welcoming smile for troubled neighbours go from “I want to help” to “I know what to say”.
Do you find yourself being asked to play the role of counsellor or listener, but you have no formal counsellor training under your belt? Or maybe you trained ages ago and you could use a refresher.
After 50 years experience as a psychotherapist and adult educator, I teach ordinary people to become effective helpers. After a few 1-hour virtual or in person consultations, you will feel confident enough to use a few basic skills that make new helpers useful and safe.
After our work, here is what you will get:
- 2 proven, simple, ways to encourage people to talk.
- 2 equally simple ways to contain or control the conversation.
- The confidence to be comfortable with intimate and difficult conversations.
- Ideas for how to prepare yourself to be a helper.
- If you want to know more, we can explore lots of techniques that will help you feel competent to be an effective listener.
I am available Fridays and Mondays, by appointment. I have 3 coaching spots open each week.
Your investment is $197 Canadian per hour. If you don’t find our first session valuable, I’ll refund your payment.
